Our Background
Bethlehem Children’s orphanage was founded in 1999 by Pastor Diamond Sikiyani. Pastor Sikiyani is originally from Malawi where he had started working with orphans there, but the Spirit of the Lord kept urging him to move to Zimbabwe and establish an orphanage here just 45 minutes from the capital of Zimbabwe , Harare. When the Pastor arrived in Zimbabwe he did not have any money but the Lord led him to an African/American missionary couple whose wife had dreamt of a stranger they were to donate $30,000 to start an orphanage.
Our Story
Bethlehem children’s home currently caters for 20 orphaned and homeless children of different ages from 6-18 years. Some of the children were brought to the orphanage following the death of both parents and some were just abandoned at the orphanage when relatives could not afford to look after them. At the orphanage the children has some resemblance of family environment with the Pastor and his wife acting as the father and mother for these children. .
